new years, xmas, drawings, nostalgia?!?!?

well happy 2013 everyone! 2012 has been one of the happiest years to date (is that a little too much? maybe i'm setting the bar too high for 2013 now!!!)

so i'm very bad with looking back on pivotal moments of my life because it makes me want to cry because of feels and whatnot but i guess this year was great because

-i graduated high school and started my first year at university (and getting to actually learn about stuff i love)

-i started blogging (and have talked to so many precious people who inspire me)

-i went to Osheaga where i saw MGMT, Tame Impala (and so many other bands), saw Beach House, ALMOST saw Radiohead in Toronto but the stage collapsed... (but got to see The Flaming Lips instead), went to Best Coast in Montreal, saw Grimes perform like a magical fairy-angel, and saw my dream band, Pond play in a tiny venue in my city (AHHHH)

-made some great pen pals

-started zine-ing

-learned how to print photographs and photograms

-became more confident in my art

-etc etc etc i can't think my heads going to explode but yupp 2012 you were good 

one of my favuorite bands of 2012 were teenage fanclub, so if you want you can listen to The Concept while you read

today i drew my first drawing of 2013. my favourite new/old hairstyle of 2012 was definitely the beehive 

 also xmas happened woah i can't believe that was last week already. anyhoo i got some really lovely things from my family and friends like these records 

i also got a new jean jacket which i personalized with a homemade patch (the cat was from the craft store Michaels)

my mom found a copy of carrie at the thrift store (ALKSJDH)

some Degas bookmarks i got at the national art gallery's gift shop (weren't for xmas but i forgot to post about them!) 

book about Frida and Diego (not a fan of Diego but still a beautiful book)

  

AND MY FRIEND MONICA BOUGHT ME THESE BEAUTIFUL SASSY BOOTS AND I'M GOING TO CHERISH THEM FOREVER AND EVER. also i'm going to do an outfit post with these soon! i spent new years eve with monica and her family and had the most perfect time in the world because her family is so much fun and made me feel like a special guest of honor (monica if you're reading this tell them i think they're the coolest okay). i think most of my favourite moments of 2012 were spent with monica and i can't wait to spend 2013 going to more shows/eating yummy food/watching movies/ with her!

i was also having a look back on my tumblr and thought it was so strange that i can go over my archive and completely remember everything about when i reblogged and posted solely on the images... i think it's because i'm so picky about what i reblog that everything just makes a place in the corner of my memory???

anyway sorry for how scattered this post was, but i hope you all had a safe and happy new years and i think my resolution will be to post weekly on this blog (let's see how long that will last!)
